A paused vision born from witnessing the struggles of foreign workers in the Netherlands — and a personal mission to solve real problems in immigration and housing.
Working at Radial opened my eyes to a harsh reality. I saw how agencies were profiting from foreign workers from Poland, Ukraine, and other countries, but these workers were trapped in cycles of instability.
The agencies lacked recognized partnership status with the IND (Dutch Immigration Service), which meant they couldn't bring workers from outside Europe. Gaining recognized sponsorship wasn't just about paying a €5,000 fee — it meant agreeing to government scrutiny that most companies wanted to avoid.
Companies like Radial desperately needed workers but were reluctant to provide housing or transportation. It simply wasn't part of their business model, and they didn't want the liability.
This left workers in extremely vulnerable positions — no stable housing, unreliable transportation, and constantly at the mercy of agencies that prioritized profit over people.
The spark came suddenly: if I could provide good housing and become a recognized sponsor with the IND, I could solve real problems and build a profitable model at the same time.
This wasn't just about making money — it was about creating stability for people who deserved better than the exploitation they were facing.
The inspiration behind it all
I began developing an AI communication assistant using OpenAI to help people who didn't share a mutual language. The inspiration came from my personal life — my soon-to-be wife struggled to speak English, and I saw the daily challenges this created.
I expanded this into an AI housing scraper to help her find proper accommodation. Traditional agencies refused housing because she had a dog — another layer of discrimination that needed solving.
"Sometimes the most powerful business ideas come from solving your own problems first."
Recognized IND sponsorship status
Stable, fair accommodation solutions
Communication and housing assistance
The project is paused for now, and the reasons are both practical and strategic. Immigration laws are shifting, creating an unstable foundation for any business built around current regulations.
Moving forward would require hundreds of thousands of euros to secure housing and transportation infrastructure. Without stable legal conditions, the risks outweigh the benefits at this stage.
Immigration policies in the Netherlands are changing rapidly. Building a business on uncertain legal ground would be irresponsible to both investors and the workers we aimed to help.
The infrastructure needed — housing properties, transportation fleet, legal compliance systems — requires substantial upfront investment that current conditions don't justify.
The window of opportunity requires stable regulations and predictable policies. Current political climate makes long-term commitments extremely risky.
Rather than rush into an unstable market, we're directing our energy toward projects with clearer paths to success and sustainable impact.
This idea represents something deeper than a business opportunity. It embodies one of my core purposes: solving real problems that affect real people.
If immigration laws stabilize and conditions improve, I plan to return to this vision. The need hasn't disappeared — it's only grown stronger.
Having experienced the challenges of integration firsthand through my partner's journey, this isn't just a business idea — it's a mission to create the support system we wish had existed.
Understanding the political and legal landscape is crucial before investing heavily in any immigration-related business.
The best business ideas come from genuine attempts to solve problems you've personally experienced or witnessed.
Sometimes the right idea at the wrong time is still the wrong move. Patience and strategic timing matter.
High-capital ventures require extremely stable conditions to justify the investment and risk.
AI and automation can solve communication barriers, but they need stable business models to thrive.
Projects that align with personal values and experiences create the strongest foundation for future success.
"This project will return when the legal framework stabilizes and the timing is right. Because solving real problems for real people isn't just business — it's responsibility."
