Shape, details and use
Discover Natica
Natica adds a small sculptural accent to a shelf, cabinet or windowsill. The design is a printed shell shape; the spiral and ribs are part of the object itself. You see the whorl most clearly from the side.
The gallery shows several example sizes and colours; you choose the colour when you order. For decorative use the shell can stay empty. If you want water in it, use a watertight insert; the printed shell itself is not watertight.

Vase guide
Where do you place a 3D-printed vase or pot, and how do you clean it?
Place a 3D-printed vase or pot indoors, out of bright sunlight behind glass and away from heat sources such as a heater, oven or candle. Clean it with a dry, soft brush or a slightly damp cloth, without solvents and not in the dishwasher. That way shape and colour stay beautiful for a long time.
Heat and sun
3D-printing filaments such as PLA soften at a temperature you rarely reach at home, but you can in a few spots: a sunny south-facing windowsill behind glass, right next to a heater or radiator, or in a car on a warm day. There a printed shape can slowly deform. Over time, bright sunlight can also make colours fade.
- Good: a shelf, sideboard, table, or a north-facing windowsill out of full sun
- Better not: directly on a radiator, next to a cooker or fireplace
- Never: a burning candle in it or right next to it
- Not outdoors: rain, frost and UV are not good for the material
Cleaning
Dust easily settles in relief and layer lines. A soft brush or make-up brush gets it out of the grooves without scratching. For stains, use a slightly damp cloth with a drop of mild washing-up liquid, and dry straight away. Do not use acetone, alcohol or abrasives, and do not put the vase in the dishwasher: the heat and the agents can dull the surface or affect the shape.
Natica: a shell on the shelf
Natica brings the spiral of a seashell into your home. The low, lying shape has an opening at the side and a rounded whorl at the end. It is meant as decoration: lovely on a shelf, sideboard or coffee table, with a few dried flowers, a small twig or simply empty as an object.
With a shell shape with deep whorls, a soft brush is the handiest way to remove dust. Place Natica where you see it from the side; that is where the spiral shows best.
Filling a bowl or object
A shell-shaped vase or bowl does not need to be filled; as an object it is already complete. If you do want to put something in it, choose something light and dry: a few dried twigs, moss from a craft shop, a small collection of shells or stones. Do not put damp or heavy things in it, and do not use it as an ashtray or candle holder.
