Measuring surface and space

Note the door or wall surface, the free space and the position of existing fittings. Say whether drilling or permanent fastening is allowed and whether the object goes indoors or outdoors. A door viewer, handle and letterbox must remain usable. The strength of a magnet, screw or glue does not follow from the print calculation. For a key holder or knocker, the load counts; for a flat decoration, mainly space and fastening. Assess those parts together with the model.

What can you compare with the reference?

The data for this example comes from a complete, selected print reference with SUNLU PLA+. It is not a measurement of a finished product. Material use can include support that is removed later; machine time does not include assembly, finishing or shipping. For separate parts, the individual print runs are added up. The table shows the selected quantities and outer dimensions per print geometry. Those dimensions do not prove inner space, fit or load capacity. A different scale or colour version needs a new assessment, because connections and extra material for colour changes can change.
