Workshop in Groningen

3D printing in Groningen, with personal guidance

OmniTechs is a small 3D printing workshop in Groningen. I am Sina Esfahani: I read your request, choose the settings, set up the print and check what comes off the build plate. So you talk to the person who actually does the work.

You can start with a 3D file, an idea or a part that broke. Whether you live in the city or further away, you send your question online, first get a free assessment and then a quote. We only print after you approve.

What happens in the workshop

A print is more than pressing start. These are the four steps every part goes through here.

  1. Preparation

I open your file and check whether the dimensions are right, whether the model is closed and whether it suits what you will use it for. In the slicer I choose the print orientation, the walls and where support is needed. If something is uncertain, such as a fit, I suggest a test print first.

  2. Printing

We print in plastic on a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS and an A1 mini, usually in PLA or PETG. Larger quantities are split across build plates so every plate stays clean and repeatable.

  3. Finishing

Supports and edges are removed manually, with safety glasses and gloves. Where agreed, we sand, fit inserts or assemble parts. Layer lines usually stay visible; we do not promise an injection-moulded surface.

  4. Checking

Before shipping I check what we agreed: dimensions that have to fit something else, the visible side and whether parts fit together. There is no universal tolerance; what counts is what the quote says.

A few examples of what was designed and printed here: from a functional part to a model that started in CAD.

Questions about 3D printing in Groningen

Where can I get something 3D printed in Groningen?
At OmniTechs, a small 3D printing workshop in Groningen. You send your file, photos or idea online and get a free first assessment and a quote. There is no walk-in counter: pickup is at the door, by appointment. Temporary offer: all orders delivered free within the municipality of Groningen, including Haren and Ten Boer, with no minimum order. Elsewhere we ship with DHL or PostNL.
How much does 3D printing cost in Groningen?
The same as anywhere else we deliver: the online calculator shows an indicative price from your STL or 3MF, and the final price is in the quote. Example: one PLA print of 50 g and 4 hours of print time, from a print-ready file comes to about €53.49 including VAT, packaging and shipping. With pickup it is about €37.16, because the shipping line is removed and the packaging cost stays.
Do students get a discount on 3D printing?
Yes. If you study at a university, university of applied sciences or MBO institution in Groningen, Friesland or Drenthe, you get 50% off the final quote price for custom 3D work: printing, parts, models, prototypes and 3D design. Where you live does not matter, and PhD candidates and exchange students are included. Say in your request that it is a student or school project. The online estimate shows the price before the discount, and the offer does not combine with the volume discount. It is valid until 31 August 2027.
How long does a 3D print take?
Lead time: typically 5–15 working days after approval of the quote or model, depending on size and complexity. The exact schedule is in the quote. A quick test print for an uncertain fit can be part of that plan.
Do I need a 3D file?
No. Photos, measurements, a sketch or the broken part's details are enough to start. The first review of your request is free. If a model has to be designed first, that work is quoted separately before anything starts.
Can I pay less if I pick up my print?
Yes. With pickup, or with delivery within the municipality of Groningen while that offer runs, the €10 shipping line is removed from your 3D quote. The €7 packaging cost stays.
