Example: one PLA print of 50 g and 4 hours of print time, from a print-ready file comes to about €53.49 including VAT, packaging and shipping. With pickup it is about €37.16, because the shipping line is removed and the packaging cost stays.

The automatic estimate uses fixed rates: machine time at €2.50 per hour, filament at €25 per kg, €1 per print plate, 6 minutes of unloading and checking per piece at €35 per hour, €7 packaging and €10 shipping within the Netherlands. A 35% markup and 21% VAT are added on top, and the calculator shows every line.
The calculator above applies these rates to your own file or numbers. The final price follows after the file, geometry and application have been reviewed.
Small series get a volume discount on the print work: 5% from 50 pieces and 10% from 150 pieces.
Students at a university, university of applied sciences or MBO institution in Groningen, Friesland or Drenthe get 50% off the final quote price for custom 3D work. The online estimate shows the price before that discount, and the two discounts do not add up.
Outer dimensions, material volume, wall thickness, overhangs, cavities and how reachable a surface is for finishing all affect the production route and the preparation. That is why a price per gram is not a fair comparison between two parts.
A display model, a fitting and a load-bearing component call for different trade-offs. The properties the part actually needs decide which route can be quoted — not the lowest material price on its own.
A manufacturable, correctly scaled file needs less preparation than a sketch, a damaged model or a physical part. Modelling, repair, scanning and design changes are separate work and appear separately in the quote rather than hiding inside a unit price.
Preparation can be spread across several identical parts, but a larger run is not automatically cheaper when sorting, finishing or inspection stays per-unit. A small series is assessed on the whole route, not on the print time alone.
Post-processing, colour or appearance, fit, dimensional checks, inserts, assembly and documentation can all extend the job. Only the checks that were agreed belong to the quote.
Finer layers can make a sloped or curved visible face look calmer, but they usually add print time and do not improve every detail. Tell us which face is visible and what is good enough there. Layer height, orientation and finishing can then be chosen deliberately instead of setting the whole print to the finest option.
Lead time: typically 5–15 working days after approval of the quote or model, depending on size and complexity. The exact schedule is in the quote. Target date, packaging and shipping or pickup are confirmed before the job starts. There is no standard rush surcharge.
Sometimes, and the honest answer depends on what the alternative is. Against a part that is still sold, printing usually loses on unit price and wins only when the original is unavailable, wrong, or would take weeks to arrive. Against a part that is out of production, there may be no unit price to compare with. At higher volumes of a simple shape, injection moulding or machining generally beats printing — and we will say so instead of quoting.
Quoted separately and confirmed in writing before anything starts. An enquiry becomes an order once application, scope, price, schedule and responsibility are agreed.

Weight is only one input. Machine setup, geometry, post-processing, scrap risk and quality control can matter at least as much, so two parts of the same weight can differ substantially in price.

There is no single hourly price for a whole job. In the automatic estimate, machine time costs €2.50 per hour. Material, plate changes, unloading and checking, packaging and shipping are added, then a 35% markup and 21% VAT.
Yes, one piece is fine and you do not need a company name. Packaging (€7) is part of every estimate, and shipping (€10) too unless you pick up, so a very small part costs relatively more than a large print.
Yes. If you study at a university, university of applied sciences or MBO institution in Groningen, Friesland or Drenthe, you get 50% off the final quote price for custom 3D work: printing, parts, models, prototypes and 3D design. Where you live does not matter, and PhD candidates and exchange students are included. Say in your request that it is a student or school project. The online estimate shows the price before the discount, and the offer does not combine with the volume discount. It is valid until 31 August 2027.
That is a different question from buying a print. The calculator on this page has a mode for your own printer, where you enter your own material, machine, electricity and labour rates to see your cost price.
Modelling, repair and scanning are separate work, included only when what you supply is not print-ready yet.
After the first intake, send a usable file or clear dimensions and describe function, quantity, finish and target date as concretely as you can.
Describe what the part has to do, what you already have, how many you need and when. Only uncertain geometry uses the technical review.
