Shape and use
About Cat paw
This cat paw is a fidget clicker in the shape of a paw with four toe beans and a big pad in the middle. Under that pad sits a standard mechanical keyboard switch from Outemu, which we fit ourselves. Press it and you hear and feel a real click, just like a key on a mechanical keyboard. The four toe beans sit on printed springs that are printed in one go with the paw; you can press those too. Designed by kraken.stl.
We print it in the colours you see in the photos: cream with red pads and red toe beans. Key ring included, as in the designer's photos. This is decoration, not a toy; not suitable for children under 3 (small parts).

Frequently asked questions
Does a fidget clicker make a lot of noise?
This cat paw has a real keyboard switch, and that gives a clearly audible click, comparable to one key of a mechanical keyboard. There is no switch under the toe beans. More about this in the guide on this page.
How does the click work: a real keyboard switch in the middle and springy toe beans?
In the middle sits a standard mechanical keyboard switch from Outemu, which we fit ourselves. Press the big pad and that switch clicks audibly. The four toe beans sit on printed springs that bounce back; there is no switch under them. It hangs on your keys or bag, and the key ring is included.
What does it cost (€19 incl. VAT), what colour is it printed in, is a key ring included and when is it delivered?
It costs €19 incl. VAT. We print it in the colours you see in the photos: cream with red pads and red toe beans. Key ring included. We print after you pay and deliver within 30 days; shipping within the Netherlands is included. If you have a deadline, put it in the remarks field; we confirm by email.
Fidget keychains
Does a fidget clicker make a lot of noise?
That depends on what clicks inside. This cat paw has a real mechanical keyboard switch in the big pad, and according to the designer that is a clicky switch with a real click. So you hear a clear click, like one key of a mechanical keyboard. In a quiet room the person next to you will hear it; on the street or at home it is not too bad.
What you hear and feel
Press the big pad and it goes down and the switch underneath clicks. Let go and the pad springs back, so you can click again straight away. That way you can click at your own pace: quickly one after another, or just once now and then.
The four toe beans work differently. They sit on springs that are printed in one go with the paw. There is no switch under them, so you can fidget with them without the click of the pad.
What to keep in mind
- In class, in a meeting or in a quiet train carriage, an audible click can distract others.
- If you want to fidget quietly, press the toe beans instead of the pad.
- At home, on the go or outdoors, the sound disappears into the background noise.
- On your keyring you always have it with you, even when you have to wait for a moment.
How loud is loud?
We do not give an exact sound level, because we have not measured it ourselves and it also depends on how you press and where you are. A good comparison: think of someone next to you typing on a mechanical keyboard with clicky keys, but one key at a time.
If you want to know what a fidget clicker actually is and why people play with one, read the guide for the witch's cauldron clicker in our seasonal collection. There we go deeper into the idea behind fidgets.
Why the springs need to fit well
The toe beans sit on springs that are printed in one go with the paw. Moving parts like these only work if there is exactly enough space between the parts. And the switch needs to sit snugly in its recess. You can read more about those small margins in the knowledge-base article on tolerances in 3D printing.
