What is a work order?
A work order records what happened on site: the assignment, work performed, people and hours, materials used and what is still open. Photos and acknowledgement can help when relevant. Administration can use this record to reconstruct the job.
A work order is not an invoice. The invoice must meet Dutch tax authority invoice requirements. In practice the work order is still the source from which invoice lines are taken. An hour or material missing on the order later becomes a line missing on the invoice.

What belongs on a work order
What is useful on a work order depends on the work. These fields are choices so you can reconstruct the job later; you can adjust or hide them in the maker. For specialist or mandatory registrations use the document meant for that.
- Company and customer: names or references, contact and location as needed.
- Work-order number and date so the order can be found again.
- Work location, object and type number when they differ from the customer address.
- The call or assignment as the customer gave it.
- Work performed in plain language, not internal codes.
- Hours worked per person: duration or start, end and break; rate only if you want to show prices.
- Materials used with quantity and unit; price is optional.
- Equipment and other costs separate from consumed materials when they belong to the job.
- What still needs to happen, or which follow-up was agreed.
- Optional acknowledgement with name, date and optional signature after checking the work order.

How can I make a work order myself?
Start at the end: which information does administration need to invoice this job without calling the technician back? That is the minimum field set.
Put fields in the order they are filled on site: first who and where, then the assignment, the work, people and resources, and finally acknowledgement if needed. Use your own numbering if administration needs it; the local maker does not manage a central number series.
The limit of a template
When a template is no longer enough
A blank work order works until the same data must sit in more than one place: in planning, on the order, in time tracking and on the invoice. From that point the problem is no longer the form, but the handoff between them.

A signature is optional in this maker. A typed or drawn acknowledgement records what was confirmed on this device, but does not independently verify identity and does not automatically approve prices or extra work.
Can I adapt the template to my own company?
