Parts, material and use

This tissue box has the shape of a classic coffin with angled corners. According to the designer, a standard rectangular pack of tissues up to about 21 by 10.5 cm fits inside. The lid has a cross-shaped opening where the tissues come out. The lid clips in place with two tabs and is easy to lift off for refilling. The design is by Creaserra; we print it to order in 3D-printed plastic.

Draw a little ghost face on the first tissue and you instantly have a laugh on the table. Put it on the sideboard, in the bathroom or on your desk. You choose the colour yourself; black is classic. We deliver within 30 days at most. Put a deadline such as 31 October in the note field.

3MF dimensions follow the embedded unit. For STL and OBJ geometry we assume millimetres; those files do not prove a unit of measurement themselves. For assembled products, outer dimensions per part are not a measurement of the finished object. A mask fit, lamp holder, load capacity or food safety does not follow from a successful slice.

Buying advice and frequently asked questions

Halloween home decor

How scary can Halloween decorations be when there are children around?

That depends mainly on the age and on the child. For young children, funny and cute works best: ghosts with a smile, pumpkins and bats. Older children often enjoy a bit of a scare, as long as they know it is fake and can choose for themselves how close they get.

A rough guide by age

Every child is different, so see this as a guideline. Pay particular attention to how your own children or young guests react.

  • Toddlers and preschoolers: cheerful figures, soft colours, no masks or sudden noises. The difference between real and fake is still hard for them.
  • Primary school children: funny-scary works well, such as a ghost coming out of a coffin or a skeleton with a silly hat.
  • Teenagers: they often do like a real scare. Let them help decorate, so they know what is coming.

A handy rule: put the scarier things higher up or further away, and the cheerful things at children's eye level.

Common mistakes

  • Moving figures with sound at the front door, where young children have to pass them unexpectedly.
  • Very realistic fake blood or wounds in the living room.
  • Laughing at children when they find something scary, instead of looking at it together.
  • Leaving small decorations or figures within reach of toddlers.

If you are hosting a party with children of different ages, also ask other parents what they are comfortable with.

Why this coffin tissue box works well with children

The coffin tissue box sits exactly on that funny-scary middle ground. The theme is clearly Halloween, but there is nothing gruesome about it. The best moment is when someone takes a tissue and a little ghost comes out of the coffin. Children can draw faces on the tissues themselves, which makes it mostly a joke.

On top of that, it is simply a tissue box you use every day. Put it on the sideboard, in the bathroom or on the desk. It is 3D-printed, so keep it out of full sun and away from the radiator: ordinary 3D-printing plastic such as PLA softens from about 55 to 60 degrees.
