Parts, material and use
The raven keychain is a compact raven with a big head, a sturdy beak and wings with a fine feather pattern. The round eye stands out against the black body. The designer made it as an articulated flexi, so it gives a little when you hold it in your hand. Designed by Biocraftlab.
Put it on your desk, among your books or next to a candlestick with an LED light, or hang it on your bunch of keys. You choose the main colour, black being the obvious choice; we print the eye as in the photo, or you can ask for another colour in the note field, red for example. Key ring included. This is decoration, not a toy; not suitable for children under 3 (small parts).

3MF dimensions follow the embedded unit. For STL and OBJ geometry we assume millimetres; those files do not prove a unit of measurement themselves. For assembled products, outer dimensions per part are not a measurement of the finished object. A mask fit, lamp holder, load capacity or food safety does not follow from a successful slice.

Why does a raven belong with Halloween?
The raven is a black bird that in many folk tales is seen as an omen, often of bad luck or death. In 1845 Edgar Allan Poe made it world-famous with the poem The Raven. That combination of old tradition and horror literature made the raven a regular guest at Halloween.
An omen in folklore
Ravens are big, completely black and have a deep, croaking call. They also eat carrion, and so in old stories they were linked to battlefields and death. According to tradition, a raven on the roof could announce bad news.
At the same time, in many stories ravens are actually clever and wise. In Norse mythology the god Odin had two ravens, Huginn and Muninn, who according to the stories flew over the world every day and told him what they saw. So the raven is not only scary, but also a messenger between worlds.
Poe and The Raven
In 1845, The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe was published. The poem is about a man mourning his dead beloved. On a dark night a raven comes knocking, and it answers all his questions with just one word: Nevermore.
The poem became popular straight away and is still widely read and quoted. Since then, the raven has stood for mourning, restless nights and the ominous, exactly the atmosphere that suits Halloween.
Where you see the raven now
- On Halloween decorations, often next to skulls and candles.
- In horror films and series as a sign that something is about to happen.
- In gothic interiors, also outside the Halloween season.
That makes a raven a handy choice if you want decorations that do not have to be put away after 31 October.
