Parts, material and use
Witch on a broom is a flat silhouette of a witch with a pointed hat and a cape, sitting on a broom with a thick brush. The middle section consists of narrow segments that interlock, so she bends and moves. On top of the hat is a small eyelet to hang her from. Designed by Vireo Studio.
Hang her on your bunch of keys, a bag or a hook by the coat rack, or lay her among the other Halloween decorations on the table. You choose the colour yourself: black is classic, grey as in the photos is more subtle, purple or green stands out more. Key ring included. This is decoration, not a toy; not suitable for children under 3 (small parts).

3MF dimensions follow the embedded unit. For STL and OBJ geometry we assume millimetres; those files do not prove a unit of measurement themselves. For assembled products, outer dimensions per part are not a measurement of the finished object. A mask fit, lamp holder, load capacity or food safety does not follow from a successful slice.

Why do witches fly on a broom?
Nobody knows exactly, but according to tradition and historians the image comes from European witch stories from centuries ago. The broom was an everyday household object, and in stories about witches who flew to secret gatherings at night, it became their means of transport. Through prints, fairy tales and later films, it became the standard way to draw a witch.
An everyday object with an extra meaning
A broom stood in almost every house. It belonged to the household, and at that time the household was mainly seen as women's territory. That is exactly why the broom became a symbol in stories that suited the witch.
According to tradition, witches flew out through the chimney at night on their way to a witches' sabbath. In those stories they rode not only on brooms, but also on sticks, pitchforks or animals. The broom is the image that eventually stuck.
From old prints to cartoons
Already in late medieval manuscripts and prints you see women travelling through the air on a broom or stick. In the centuries that followed, during the witch trials, many images of witches on brooms appeared.
Later, fairy tales, children's books and films took over that image. The witch with a pointed hat on a broom in front of a full moon is now so familiar that you recognise her from the silhouette alone.
- The pointed hat and cape make the silhouette instantly recognisable.
- A full moon in the background is a standard combination.
- Often a black cat or bat flies along.
A witch that really moves
Our witch on a broom uses exactly that familiar silhouette: pointed hat, cape and a broom with a thick brush. Because she is made of segments, she bends along when you hold her or let her dangle from your keys. It almost looks as if she is really swooshing through the air.
A flexi like this comes out of the printer in one piece. The hinges between the segments are created during printing itself, without glue or loose pins. Bend her gently and do not pull on a single segment.
This is decoration, not a toy; not suitable for children under 3 (small parts). We print to order and deliver within 30 days at most. If you want her for 31 October, put that in the note field; we will confirm by email.
